Tng Ah Yiam is a veteran of NTUC FairPrice. He has held various senior leadership roles, most recently as Deputy CEO and Head of Products.

In his career with FairPrice spanning over 30 years, he has extensive experience in key functions ranging from store operations, purchasing, merchandising, trading to supply chain management.

Ah Yiam was awarded the PBM (The Public Service Medal) and BBM (The Public Service Star) for over 20 years of continuous service to the community as Chairman, Ulu Pandan CCMC, Vice Chairman, Ulu Pandan CCC and Chairman, Holland Bukit Timah Town Council Finance Committee.

Yeo Chun Fing served the trade union and Co-operative Movement for over 30 years. Now an Advisor to the Amalgamated Union of Public Employees (AUPE), he was previously its General Secretary. He was also Assistant Secretary for Financial Affairs at the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC).

At AUPE and NTUC, he strived for fair and equitable treatment for working people and ensured a level playing field in the relationship between employees and their employers. He advanced the standing and work of the Singapore Labour Movement and contributed to entrenching Singapore’s tripartite model of peaceful and collaborative industrial relations that continues to achieve real progress in the protection of workers’ rights, good jobs creation, sustainable wage increases and retirement adequacy.

The AUPE Credit Co-operative Limited where he is currently the Chairman, provides a relatively secure platform for public servants and union members to save their earnings and an alternative source of affordable loans.

He is also a Vice President of the International Trade Union Confederation as well as its Asia Pacific regional body.

Shena Foo joined the Singapore Organisation of Seamen (SOS) as Founder Member of Seacare Co-operative Limited (Seacare) in November 1996. The founding mission of Seacare was to help and benefit Singapore seamen and their families through more work opportunities and appropriate investment projects.

Shena was appointed by SOS to provide a supportive role to the newly formed management team of Seacare. She was a member of the team that oversaw the acquisition of Seacare Building, formerly known as Resource Building in 1999. The Seacare Building serves as the corporate headquarters of SOS and the Seacare group of companies.

In 2016, Shena was appointed as a member of the Management Team (UK Hotels) which was formed when Seacare made its foray into the hospitality sector in the United Kingdom. Seacare’s hospitality asset portfolio in the UK has expanded substantially since 2015 to eleven with presence in England, Wales and Scotland.

Seacare has today a diversified range of business activities from hospitality, manpower supply, medical to cleaning services through its various subsidiaries. The businesses are organised into five reportable clusters, namely Hospitality, Property & Environmental, HR & Lifestyle, Medical & Maritime and Investment.

During her more than 20 years of service, she was exposed to a broad spectrum of responsibilities within Seacare and its group of companies with corporate services and human resources as the core.

Shena was elected as the Deputy Chairman of Seacare on 27 September 2019 and is the Chairperson of Seacare Environmental Pte Ltd, Seacare Inverness Limited and Suites Hotel Holding Limited. She was elected as a member of the SNCF Executive Council in 2016 and was re-elected in 2019.

Leow Teck Sim is an elected member of the Singapore National Co-operative Federation Executive Council representing the Campus Co-operative sector. His involvement with the Co-operative Movement started in 2013 when he was appointed as Executive Director of Ngee Ann Polytechnic Consumers Co-operative Limited (NP Co-op) which was established in 1971. He is currently the Chairman of the Committee of Management for NP Co-op.

In his professional capacity, Teck Sim is an academic staff with the School of Business & Accountancy, Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Having been in the education sector for close to 20 years, he has assumed various educational leadership positions overseeing academic management and helming course management of diploma programmes. Currently, he is the Deputy Director of the School of Business & Accountancy overseeing Continuing Education & Training as well as industry relations.

Teck Sim graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor degree in Business (Marketing) and also completed his MSc in Entrepreneurship from University of Stirling.

Shareef is the Managing Director of Training Concepts (US) Pte Ltd, an International Strategic Consulting and Training Business. Shareef has worked in senior General Management positions for a number of local and international companies in the hospitality and human resource development sector and has more than 35 years of experience in industry.

He is active in the co-operative movement and serves as the Chairman of the Board of TCC Cooperative Society Limited, Singapore's largest Credit Cooperative Society. He is also the Chairman of Secureguard Cooperative Society Ltd.

Shareef has extensive international training & development experience and has conducted developmental programmes in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei, Uganda, Kenya, Pakistan, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Taiwan, and India.

Shareef is actively involved in a number of private educational institutions. He serves on the Governing Council of the Management Development Institute of Singapore as its Secretary General. He is the Chairman, of the Board of Directors for MDIS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and MDIS Unicampus (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. He is also the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors for Service Quality Centre (Singapore) and Vice-President of Service Quality Centre (Indonesia). He sits on the Board of Directors for MDIS@Tashkent, Uzbekistan and MDIS@Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

John Raghavan currently serves as Chairman on the board of the Committee of Management, of the Singapore Government Staff Credit Cooperative Society (SGS Co-Op). Under his Chairmanship, a role he helmed since 2006, he steered SGSCC to a thriving and sustainable credit co-operative with assets exceeding $104 million (in 2020) and membership exceeding 7,000 members.

John joined the civil service as a full-time officer in 1971 serving in various capacities in the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environment, and the National Environment Agency, where he finally retired in 2019 after 47 years of service. As a dedicated civil servant, he has been recognised for his contributions as a two-time recipient of Singapore’s annual National Day Awards, given to individuals in recognition of various types of merit and service to the nation.

An active grassroots leader, John concurrently serves on the board of other organisations where he is passionate about promoting community cohesiveness and neighbourliness, whilst furthering the mission of the organisations to better the lives of their members. In recognition of his regular contributions and active promotion of public sector co-operatives, he was awarded the Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) Commendation Medal in 2008.

Currently, he is the Vice Chairman of Premier Security Co-operative, Vice Chairman of SASCO Ltd, Chairman of Customs Credit Co-operative Society International Learning Institute, Executive Council Member of SNCF and President of the Singapore Tamilian Association.

He has also served 15 years heading the Indian Activity Group of Yio Chu Kang Community Centre and was a grassroots constituency member with Cheng San Residents’ Committee.

Allan Tok joined the Singapore Teachers’ Co-operative Society in June 2001. As a member of the Youth Committee then, he organised various activities for the teachers to bond and get together. Some of the activities include inter-school bowling competitions and weekend cruises for members.

In 2011, he was elected as a member of Committee of Management and served as the 2nd deputy Chairman from 2013-2016. He participated in the World Council of Credit Union (WOCCU) conferences in Gdansk, Poland in 2012 and Denver, USA in 2015. He then shared what he had learnt from the conferences with the Singapore co-operators during a post conference get-together session organised by SNCF. As the Chairman of the investment committee of the society, he holds monthly meetings with members to discuss investment matters.

He is currently serving as the 1st deputy Chairman of the society and is a Head of Department in a primary school.

Mike Chian has been an active and passionate leader of the Co-operative Movement for more than a decade.

He was a manager with Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) where he worked with different co-operative sectors and industry partners in the areas of marketing, training, business development, campus and youth initiatives. He conducted public awareness talks and events that raised the profile of SNCF and the Co-operative Movement during his tenure. He was also the advisor and worked closely with the Registrar of Co-operative for the formation of new co-operatives.

Currently, he is the Secretary of Love Empowered Co-operative (LECL). He has helped LECL in the areas of strategic planning, corporate relations, and organisational restructuring to empower children with challenges. He is also a Committee Member of Silver Caregivers Co-operative to drive awareness about caregiving for the elderly.

Mike holds both an MBA and a Bachelor of Science from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also a member of the NUS Multi-Purpose Co-operative.

In his professional job, he is the General Manager of a Public Listed Company on the Singapore Stock Exchange Main Board.

With his experience and a strong believer of co-operative principles, Mike looks forward to working closely with other co-operatives and public agencies to develop a stronger Co-operative Movement in Singapore to Do Well and Do Good together.

Thian Ai Ling is the General Manager of My First Skool by NTUC First Campus, a network of 145 childcare centres in Singapore, and afterschool, a school-based student care service in primary schools offered by NTUC First Campus, aimed at meeting working families’ demand for reliable, quality after-school care.

At My First Skool, Ai Ling leads and develops systems for business effectiveness, quality assurance and practice leadership. She had initiated various quality-improvement and change-management initiatives, for example technology strategic mapping, niches’ development with partners, intergenerational programming and others. Ai Ling coaches her team of Area Directors, Cluster Quality Managers and Centre Principals on Systems Thinking, Strategic Planning and Leadership.

Before joining the pre-school sector in 2015, Ai Ling spent 18 years with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and had last held the posts of Cluster Superintendent and Principal with MOE. She holds a Master from Columbia University (Teachers’ College), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education with the National Institute of Education (NIE) and a BA (Honours) with the National University of Singapore. She was also profiled by the three-time Pulitzer Prize winner and NY Times Columnist, Thomas Friedman in 2011 for spearheading thought leadership in education in Singapore.

Ai Ling was a recipient of Singapore’s National Outstanding Youth in Education (OYEA) Award in 2001 and the Lee Kuan Yew’s Valedictorian Award at the 2008 National Institute of Education’s Leaders in Education Programme. The Valedictorian Award is awarded for demonstrating the best overall performance in the Leaders in Education Programme. She was also an Apple Distinguished Educator in her early days as an educator.

Ai Ling received the Prof Indira Parikh 50 Women in Education Leaders’ Award in 2018 and the Global Leader in Education Award in 2019 at the World Education Congress, India.

Tan Boon Kiat is currently the Human Resources Partner with NTUC Income Co-operative, looking after people matters in Actuarial, Digital Transformation Office, Finance, Risk Management, Investments and Corporate Business. He has over 13 years of experience in areas of talent acquisition, talent management, performance management and employee relations in technology & management consulting companies. He is a Business (Accountancy) graduate from RMIT University.

Raen Lim is the Group Vice President (Asia) of Splunk Inc, a San Francisco based tech company responsible for producing software for searching, monitoring and analysing machine-generated data. At Splunk, Raen is responsible for opening up new markets and generating revenue in Asia. She works closely with clients to strengthen their security posture, predict system outages before they occur, and shorten time to market for in-house developed business apps. Before joining Splunk, Raen assumed leadership roles at Oracle and Salesforce.

A natural communicator and collaborator, Raen is an avid mentor to several start-ups under the Singapore Management University Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Business Innovation Generator programme.

Wily Wan is a globally experienced media and technology lawyer. She is currently an Associate General Counsel at Meta where she leads a legal team based in Singapore that supports strategic mobile, connectivity and metaverse related deals with large telecommunications companies across Asia Pacific and Africa.

Before joining Meta in early 2020, Wily was head of legal for Japan/Asia Pacific at Twitter.
